From Sugar Cane comes the Okinawa Sugarcane Fiber Blend Jean in One Wash Indigo. The silhouette is based on the Sugar Cane's 1947 iconic 5-pocket silhouette , a faithful reproduction of Levi's 501XX 1947, which features a regular fit with a high rise, straight leg, and button fly.
The denim is constructed using an original 14oz Double Ring-Spun selvedge denim that is woven using yarns blended with 50% cotton and 50% sugar cane fibres from Okinawa using vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, resulting in resulting in a fabric with an uneven and neppy hairy surface. The yarns are rope dyed prior to weaving using both Ryukyu-Ai indigo and regular indigo for a unique dark, reddish blue hue. Once constructed, the denim was one wash processed to remove shrinkage and to give it a worn-in texture.
Additional details include custom buttons and rivets, Habu Viper snakeskin back patch that is branded using red lacquer paint, hand-sewn back pocket detail stitch using green sugar cane yarns, custom indigo dyed sashiko-stitch reinforced pocket bags, custom printed back pocket lining, and green selvedge ID piping throughout.
