From Sugar Cane's exclusive collaboration with Self Edge comes the 1947 Jean in Black. Sugar Cane's 1947 iconic 5-pocket silhouette is modeled on the classic 1947 Levi's 501XX cut, featuring a regular fit with a high rise, straight leg, and button fly.
The denim is constructed using a custom 13oz yarn-dyed right hand twill selvedge denim that is woven exclusively for Self Edge using vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, resulting in resulting in a fabric with an uneven and neppy hairy surface. The warp yarns are sulfur dyed and weft yarns are reactive dyed prior to weaving for a deep black hue that will fade slowly with use. Once constructed, the pants were rinsed to reduce shrinkage.
Additional details include custom buttons and rivets, custom branded cowhide leather back patch, and red selvedge ID piping throughout.
