From Levi's comes a pair of 1983 501 Selvedge Denim in a Dark Wash. The denim is cut in the classic 5-pocket 501 silhouette featuring a regular fit with a high rise, button fly, and straight leg.
The pants were constructed at Levi's legendary Valencia Street factory in San Francisco- usually identified by the "555" factory stamp on the back of the top button or care tag. Among denim collectors, that factory has become one of the most desirable eras of Levi's production. The Valencia Street factory operated from the early 1900s until it closed in 2002 during Levi's shift overseas. Many people see it as the end of "true" American-made Levi's production. The fabric is a custom 13oz selvedge denim from Cone Mills’ White Oak plant in North Carolina.
Additional details include custom buttons and rivets, red selvedge ID piping throughout, and a classic paper back patch.
