From Visvim's Fall/Winter 2011 Collection comes the Cowichan P.O. in Mud. The Cowichan is a hand knit pullover sweater featuring a slim fit, shawl collar, and knit ribbing along the cuffs and hem.

The pullover was knit by hand using Japanese Shetland wool fibers. The fibers were rope-dyed using an ancient dyeing technique known as "Doro-Zome", or mud dyeing. Doro-Zome is a 1,300 year old technique from Amami Ōshima. The process consists of boiling down the Japanese Sharinbai flowering plant mixed with an alkaline component in a large vat for a week and in order to create a liquid extract. Yarns are then dipped repeatedly in this extract, and afterwards immersed in iron-rich mud from primitive sediment layers dating back 1.5 million years. This causes a chemical reaction between the acid pigment in the Sharinbai extract and the iron in the mud, which gives birth to a deep, uniquely lustrous black dye. Because the yarns were individually dyed, the sweater features an amazingly deep and uneven color variation throughout.

Additional details included elbow reinforcement using brain-tanned, natural-mud dyed German deerskin patches, and a signature tagged by Hiroki Nakamura himself.
