From Visvim's Fall/Winter 2016 Collection comes the Hopiland Blazer (Saki-Ori) in Indigo. The Hopiland is a 4-button blazer with a regular fit featuring three patch front pockets, two interior chest pockets, and adjustable sleeves.

The blazer is constructed using a traditional Japanese textile recycling technique called Saki-ori that originated during the Edo period as a way to extend the life of worn-out fabrics. The name combines “saki” (to tear) and “ori” (to weave), describing the process of tearing old garments into thin strips and weaving them into new fabric, often combined with fresh threads for added durability. The fabric was created using original natural indigo-dyed cotton fabrics that were torn into individual weft threads, and then woven together with dry processed wool warp threads using a traditional wooden handloom one layer at a time. The process creates a fabric with a distinct, textured appearance with unique color variation leaving no two pieces alike.

Additional details include a cotton lining, original leather backed water buffalo horn buttons, and a hand-stitched block patterned wool/rayon blend fabric neck detail.

Tagged size 3 and fits a TTS Large. Please refer to measurements for best fit. Condition is 9/10; very minimal signs of wear.

One of only two known in existence (this one being the trunk show sample). This was an extremely labor intensive process that took 6 months to complete each jacket. One of, if not the most expensive item Visvim has ever produced. Truly belongs in a museum.
