From Visvim's Fall/Winter 2017 Collection comes the Yukata Coat in Brown. The Yukata takes inspiration from the traditional Japanese Kimono, cut in an exaggerated, robe-like silhouette featuring side seam hand pockets, and a kimono collar.
The coat is constructed using an original herringbone twill fabric that was developed in collaboration with NIKKE, a century-old textile manufacturer, to recreate the fabric from a vintage mid 20th-century pant pulled from the manufacturer's archive. After years of aging, the oil in yarns had been completely removed, resulting in a dry and seasoned texture. To reproduce the color and texture of the pants, they combined four-colored warp yarns and three-colored weft yarns with British wool used for the weft yarn, a silk nep yarn, and a linen thread to bring out the dry texture.
Additional details include open seams in the armpits for ventilation.
