From Visvim's Fall/Winter 2018 Collection comes the Jumbo Tee in Dk. Indigo. The jumbo silhouette has an oversized cut, with a slightly cropped length, one chest pocket, and a drop shoulder design.
The tee is constructed from a dry vintage slub cotton. Once constructed, the tee was natural Aizome, or Indigo dyed. Aizome uses natural indigo pigment extracted through a complex fermentation process called “ai-date,” which involves traditional fermentation known as "hakkō-date". Hakkō-date involves fermenting dried indigo leaves (sukumo) with lye, ash, alcohol, and lime, requiring careful adjustments by craftspeople to achieve desired colors. This labor-intensive process allows for artistic freedom and produces rich, transparent indigo hues, prized for their depth and clarity.
