From Visvim’s Fall/Winter 2022 SPOT Collection comes the Christo in Ivory. Inspired by Bulgarian artists Christo Javacheff and Jeanne-Claude de Guillebon, the sandal draws many parallels from the couple's work such as the wrapping of bridges, natural formations, and the simplicity in everyday objects.
The sandal is constructed using a strap-over-wrap assembly of using a German Corduroy fabric made from specially processed cotton for the uppers. The fabric is woven from weft yarn with a special twisting process. This strong and flexible fabric was originally produced on German high-density looms and was used for military purposes for its characteristics. The sandals are finished using ultra light EVA Phylon midsoles and custom Vibram rubber outsoles.
Additional details include a leather lining and insole, cork footbed, and a Kyon leather tongue tab with 'VSVM' branding using lacquer paint drips by had.
