From Visvim's Fall/Winter 2024 Collection comes the Thorson JKT in Black. The Thorson is a reversible, boxy take on the MA-1 bomber jacket featuring a front zip closure, ribbed cuffs and hem, one zip left sleeve pocket, two snap button hand pockets, and two interior snap button chest pockets.
The jacket is constructed using a custom wool-silk blend army twill fabric characterized by a smooth hand with a structured nylon-like body. The reverse side is lined using a custom silk-linen blend jacquard fabric fabric woven in Yonezawa, an area that represents some of the finest production of silk fabrics in Japan. The method which includes the dividing of the threads followed by warping has remained unchanged for over 100 years and gets carried out while accommodating the natural properties of silk. The jacket is filled using a Mawata Silk Pile. Mawata is an extremely light and durable silk that possesses high insulating properties; it is made from single strands of silk secreted from the mouth of silkworms, and because the silk is spun into long, whole-length pieces, it is extremely strong yet soft.
Additional details include a press-finish, Swiss RIRI zippers, custom specially processed snap buttons, and custom wool/nylon/linen blend ribbing.
