From Visvim's Spring/Summer 2019 collection comes the Dotera Mil Coat in Olive. The Dotera Mil blends the traditional Japanese Kimono with US military elements to create an elegant representation of Japanese Americana. It features an oversized silhouette with drop shoulders, kimono collar, cropped sleeves, an elongated body, and two slanted front snap button pockets.
The coat is constructed using a blend of cotton and Japanese nylon for the shell, a cotton lining, and a polyester filling. Once constructed, the coat was soaked and dyed in iron-rich mud from local Amami-Ōshima rice paddies in Japan and then damage-processed resulting in an authentic character and worn-in charm synonymous with vintage garments.
Additional details include an original damaged metal snap buttons, reinforced elbow, cotton herringbone fabric used for the collar and pocket lining, a front tie closure, and a drawstring waist adjustment.
