From Visvim's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection comes the Meckel Parka in Beige. The Meckel is a military-inspired field parka sporting an oversized, drop shoulder silhouette with a dual zip/button front closure, two flap-over hand pockets, one flap-over buttoned chest pocket, adjustable torso, hood, and neck, adjustable button sleeves, and hidden ribbed cuffs.
The coat was constructed using a specially processed cotton/nylon blend fabric for the shell. Once constructed, the coat was soaked and dyed in iron-rich mud from local Amami-Ōshima rice paddies in Japan and then damage processed, resulting in an authentic worn-in character synonymous with vintage garments.
Additional details include a rayon lining, polyester filling, original vegetable ivory nut buttons, original damaged metal snap buttons, Swiss RIRI zip with a vegetable-tanned cow leather zipper pul, vegetable-tanned cow leather reinforcement details, ventilation holes at the armpit, original damaged metal buckle hardware at the hood, and a removable armband featuring hand-painted "PEERLESS" branding.
The band is made using a collage of multiple custom textiles developed for the SS19 Collection. The fabrics include a natural veggie dyed hand-spun and hand-woven fabric by natives of the Buyi people, a polka dot fabric printed using natural cochineal dye, a check patterned slub linen material, with its uneven texture enhanced by using natural indigo kasezome skein-dye technique, a striped hand-woven cotton twill, with a unique unevenness created by natural-dyed yarn selectively varied in lengths and thicknesses, hand-sewn sashiko details using multi-colored yarns of different yarn widths, and Gara-bou spun fabric, characterized by its uniquely uneven yarns and bumpy texture.
Tagged size 5 and fits a TTS XXL. Please refer to measurements for best fit. Condition is 8/10; minimal signs of wear with minor staining throughout.
