From Visvim's Spring/Summer 2021 Indigo Camping Trailer Collection comes the White Oak Coverall in Mud. The Whiteoak is a 5-button chore jacket cut in a voluminous, drop-shoulder silhouette featuring a point collar and two patch hand pockets.
The jacket is constructed using a herringbone twill fabric made from specially processed cotton fibers. Once constructed, the jacket was natural dyed using a 1300 year old Japanese dyeing technique called Dorozome, or mud dyeing. The process consists of Boiling a flowering plant, known in Japan as sharinbai, in a large vat for two days in order to create a liquid extract. The item is then dipped repeatedly in this extract, and afterwards immersed in iron-rich mud sediments on Amami Ōshima, Japan. This causes a chemical reaction between the acid pigment in the sharinbai extract and the iron in the mud, which gives birth to a deep, uniquely lustrous black dye. Once constructed, the jacket was damage processed for a worn-in look.
Additional details include leather backed vegetable ivory buttons, and a vintage Kofu neck label.
