From Visvim's Spring/Summer 2024 Indigo Camping Trailer Collection comes the Larkham L/S Rugger in Dark Indigo. The Larkham is a rugby style long-sleeve shirt cut in a relaxed, drop-shoulder silhouette featuring a point-collar, quarter neck closure with a hidden button-fastened placket, and ribbed cuffs.
The shirt is constructed using a midweight plain-weave jersey fabric made from long-staple cotton fibers. Once constructed, the pants were natural Aizome, or Indigo dyed. Aizome uses natural indigo pigment extracted through a complex fermentation process called “ai-date,” which involves traditional fermentation known as "hakkō-date". Hakkō-date involves fermenting dried indigo leaves (sukumo) with lye, ash, alcohol, and lime, requiring careful adjustments by craftspeople to achieve desired colors. This labor-intensive process allows for artistic freedom and produces rich, transparent indigo hues, prized for their depth and clarity.
Additional details include an Oxford cloth contrast collar, patchwork yoke detailing using triangle-cut panels, custom water buffalo horn buttons, and a vintage Kofu neck label.
