From Cottle's "Uniform For Living" Collection, comes the Wool Padding Zen Jacket in Authentic Indigo. The Zen jacket is a stand-collar blazer combining elements of both eastern and western cultures. it features a regular cut with a front button closure with a hidden placket, two fold-over waist pockets, and elongated button-fastened sleeves.
The jacket was constructed using a cotton kimono fabric that has incredible texture and been dyed using an ancient Japanese dyeing technique known as Aizome, or indigo-dyeing, resulting in beautiful character throughout. The jacket is filled using a "fine grade wool" which is an original hand-picked wool developed to fill futons in Japan. The wool is soft and light and known for its heat retentive and breathable qualities. The jacket body is lined using traditional fabric woven with persimmon tannin and indigo, while the sleeves are lined in a comfortable cupro fabric.
Additional details include two interior chest pockets, cotton canvas pocket lining, leather backed horn buttons, and a gold-plated top button detail using a 15th-century technique called Kintsugi; a Japanese art of repairing broken objects with gold and lacquer.
