From Samuel Zelig comes the Work Jacket - 002 in Indigo. The Work Jacket is boxy zip jacket with a slight crop and features raglan sleeves and two flap-over hand pockets with a hidden button closure.
The jacket was constructed by a single sewer in Los Angeles using a custom upcycled fabric that uses 20th century French herringbone and Japanese indigo sashiko. The process consists of deconstructing vintage French workwear from the mid 1900's to late 1970's and Japanese sashiko garments into flat panels of fabric. Then, the panels were cut into patches and seamed together, sewn one yard at a time until completed. This process was very labor intensive in which every step was done by hand. Due to the handcrafted nature of the garment, all flaws are unique characteristics of this piece where no two items are alike.
Additional details include a natural seed cotton lining, Swiss RIRI two way zipper, natural Italian wood buttons, and an embroidered care and main label.
